Floyd Braid's Bio
Floyd Braid has 12 successful years of
experience as a middle school and college level educator. He
has taught grades 5-8 and various technology integration courses
for educators and pre-service teachers. He was the creator of a
middle school communication arts instructional model that won
praise and awards. The National Citizens School Committee
awarded Mr. Braid and his model their "One in One Hundred"
award, an award that is given to one hundred innovative public
education initiatives every year. Floyd was a principal member
in the creation and development of Georgia Learning Connections
(GLC-
www.glc.k12.ga.us ), a Web site dedicated to providing
educators with standard specific customizable resources to
support teaching and learning in Georgia. He was directly
responsible for the development of GLC Teacher Resource Center
and statewide staff development for this initiative.
Floyd
currently serves as the Chief Learning Officer for i3 Training
Services
www.i3trainingservices.com a professional development
company that focuses on the evolution of technology tools as
they support the curriculum in the classroom. In the past 4
years he has worked with over 2000 educators and 500 school
districts on refining their use of technology so that it
supports greater student achievement and teacher productivity.
Most recently Floyd has been working with several schools that
have embraced the 1-to-1 computing challenge.
Mr. Braid is
a highly respected trainer and is frequently requested to
present at local and national technology training sessions and
conferences. The Apple Computer Corporation recently selected
him for their Apple Distinguished Educator Award.
